I went to a local paint wholesale shop and they put a little meter on the body of my car and that gave a read out with the paint code (since it is a 2000 model) that helps them account for paint fading INSTEAD of just mixing me up some factory paint that wouldn't match. (COST: $40.00 for half a pint of PPG) which is top of the line paint.

Then I dropped off the mirrors at a place called Super Shop here in town and they sprayed them and clear coated them for $100.00, drove around that day with no mirrors and picked them up the very next day!

Yeah Like I said I had to use a credit at a local speed shop that I had for returning some speakers and those headlight covers are the ONLY thing they had for a mustang in stock......

I AM THINKING of painting the covers WHITE and leaving holes or something for the headlights/turn signals to shine through...

I hate the flames thing too..
but it does kind've tie in with my lil red fire extinguisher...LOL

I think I'll paint them today since it's nice out...TOO EXPENSIVE to get them painted to MATCH the car color but that would probably look better than white...AHHH Descisions, Decisions...hehe

Thanks for all the comments...It's funny I've never met any of you in person yet, but as soon as I do something it's like calling up a buddy to come over and check it out...so I'm snapping away pics to show you guys (and gals)...

We'll see how the covers turn out white instead of flamed...

Alright....I didn't like the FLAMES on the headlight covers that much either....

So after screwing around all day trying to get the covers to MATCH the paint of the car....I went this way instead......

BEFORE:

-----------------------------
AFTER:

Still have to touch them up a bit and "extend" the tribal patterns a little...

I think it ties in nicely with the white/black of the tires/rims.....

what im thinking... if you take the lines from the front headlights.... and extend em back... would they match up with the rest of the hood's lines...?

or you could get the pony air brushed in a tribal theme

Brianzeke007:

Yeah sort've...but the covers I got with a store credit that I HAD to use or lose had hideous flames (see above pic)...and if I screw them up too bad I'll just paint them black and be done with it...

I am kind've worried about putting TOO MUCH White in the mix of things....

We'll see how it goes when I finish up the front end tomm... I do kind've like the idea of tribal on the car since I have a few tribal tats myself...
