power sterring delete

Ok my pump is leaking and im to lazy to fix

is there any temporary solution for a power sterring delete

i know some guys have used power sterring rack and pinions with out the power sterring pump

what would i have to do drain the pump and just put a block nut on the rack where the lines went?

would that cause any issues?
the rack would remain oiled with w/e fluid is left so im unsure of any other issues?

You do not want to block off the valves. Inside the power rack and pinion there is a piston that moves side to side, that intern moves the fluid too the reservoir and pump and back to the other side of the rack and pinion. If the valves are blocked off, its like hydro locking the system. And the fluid will keep the piston from moving. What you want to do is bypass one side to the other on the rack itself. This away you are just moving the fluid from one side to the other.
