Question for anyone whos tried this...

So I've got an '00 v6 stang and the center console bugs the hell outta me. Anyone else who has one knows what I'm talking about... It's a 5 speed and whenever i drop in 2nd or 4th the shift knob comes over the first cup holder, rendering it completely useless.

I found locally someone selling a center console from an '02. Anyone know if this should fit properly? Or how hard it should be to replace?

get a short shifter, and yes it will snap into the place of your existing one

but isn't the center console the same 99-04?

99-02 I believe has the coin holder in the back causeing his problem thats why they changed it

hate to tell ya, but even with the newer one the shifter will still touch drinks in that first cup holder.

No. In either 01 or 02 they changed it and moved the cup holders back and put a change holder in the front.

oh ok... and what johnson said. i have the one where the coin holder is in front and the shifter still goes into the area of the 1st cup holder

it does just not as bad lol, you really need a shorter shifting arm to fix it

yea. it doesnt go half way over the cup holder, but u will still touch anything in that cup holder.

I had looked at a steeda one from americanmuscle but im pretty sure it wouldn't be any shorter.

well I usually have someone riding with me and people don't appreciate holding drinks when there are 2 cup holders heh
