transmission swap


I have a 2000 v6 auto and im getting bored with it.. i want to drop in a 5spd.

should i just look around at junkyards for one? how much will it cost to get it installed?

unless u really know what ur doing and can do all this urself, i would say don't do it. just get a jmod on ur auto.

IMO dont do it. the auto you have will hold more power than a T-5. and with a Jmod and shift kit will do very well.

the auto tranny is good up to around 400rwhp and the t-5 will give out around 350rwhp after awhile.

That is a big undertaking!!! I did a Manual Trans swap on a Civic and that mass a process...

jmod and shift kit are the same thing. 1 or the other. I have a b&m and i love it.

If you count up what it will cost for parts (even without the labor added in,) you might be able to buy yourself another Mustang: with a stick.
