oh and PS... anyone that runs a 14.4 shouldnt be arguing what is faster between an LS1 and a cobra... thats like a honda kid saying well a NSX could be a corvette...

someone got butt hurt LOL.

and i have talked about my own car. i was saying that i know about all these cars and motors and potential.

and i am a ford fan. you can tell by the way i said i dont like how to camaro sits. which they all sit to low for my liking. and i also like the looks of my mustang.

fact is when you get to where i want to go with my setup which is 500rwhp, even if you want to do it with a 4.6L 2v you still have to do everything ive done.

1: build/forged engine
2: Build/change tranny
3: build rear
4: supercharger/turbo
5: fuel system upgrade

etc..

you have to do the same things to a 4.6L 2v to get to these levels or higher as well. and if v6's have people getting 611 and 660rwhp with 16 and 17psi, i dont see how this can be made fun of. maybe it is a form of envy, i dont know.

pretty much +1. anything can be made faster at any cost. it is opinion and desire that shapes the decisions of the customer/owner

this thread sucks but since when has the ls1 fbody been faster than a terminator? it hasn't.

and a good heads/cam ls1 will be running high 11's...just like a pullied/bolt on cobra (with a lot less money invested)

personally i'd rather have a 4v over an ls1 camaro/TA for sure. if i'm getting a GM car it will be a vette.

if you'll go to ls1tech.com there is a 450 rwhp t/a that lost to a 465rwhp pullied/bolt-on cobra. the cobra also beat a cammed 400rwhp c5 vette. guy in the t/a could drive, he is brothers with the cobra guy.

A. someone doesnt know cars that well or B. did want all that much power to start with...
I think i meant to say 4.6 2v, but i was reading about cobras so my mind might have gotten confused. But, ill write that off as a mistake on my part and talking out of might ass. 2nd, i didnt say anything about who bought your car, i said that your making a generalization. 3rd, whos sig says "bought a six to play around with"? The only one i have ever seen say anything of the sort was ab and he said "it was a learning/budget build". I agree with you, if your going to buy a car to play with, it should be a fox.

Even if, what do stock 4v cobras run? 12.9s. I have seen bone stock ls1 camaros run 12.8s. A guy 2 miles from my house ran 12s in his camaro 1st time to the track.

your forgetting the 03 cobra is 20-25k. the LS1 will be alot cheaper. and you can do cam/heads still for less.

To be able to beat a gt or keep up with one for that matter all you would need is

.Gears
.T-lok
.cai
.tune
.good driver
and you could add others to it as well

good driver 12.7-13.0

96-98 held around a 13.8-14.0, they just werent drag cars.

so what if you need a car newer than 02?? (less miles)

then you have to resort to a vette and even the regular c5's are just as much.

heads/cams will be at least as much as bolt on's and a pully for the cobra.

sure an ls1 fbody can pull high twelves (although most are low-mid 13's) but most don't. most run low 13's at best. anyway if an ls1 can pull a high twelve with a great driver then the cobra could pull even better with that same driver. even the guys on ls1 tech know that the terminator is faster stock for stock.

the question comes down to... before you bought the v-6 did you want a GT or cobra? i bet most people would answer that the same... and since youve had some much time or money invested NOW you wouldnt switch... the GT guys are the same for the cobra... if they have a semi stock GT then they lust for the cobra... but once you put a blower, bottom end, etc etc... then there is no reason for it...
