v6 takedown a gt


so im curious...wat does it take to beat a gt mustang if im a 2000 v6, exclude nitrous n f/i......ive got a cai and tb, gears and tlok...and soon im gettin p&p heads and both upper n lower intakes with rockers and possible a cam, oh and and udp and tune

all you need is 4.10s, t-lok, drag radials, and a tune.

i ran 14.7 with 163 rwhp and 190 rwtq... that is as fast as stock 99-04 gt's

p.s. if insurance for the v6 for a male under 25 is 100 less per month, it will take one year to break even. if you own your car more than a year, it is cheaper to mod the 6 than buy a gt from the get go

With a driver like Demello maybe.

running a 14.7 is really bad for a GT.
you can run a 13.9 in a stock GT if you can drive.
If you can run a 14.7 with only 163 rwhp and 190 rwtq you would think that if you were driving a GT ( with your drivers skills) that you would run a bit faster considering they run around 235 rwhp and 275 rwtq ( 5 spd) from the factory.

Driver mod is pretty important. Not as tough with an automatic though. I would be so pissed if anything with less that 8 cylinders beat me.

very true but your average driver at a test and tune night wont see much higher than a 14.5 as your average v6 driver at a test and tune night wont see much higher than a 16.3

the gearing affects the time more than the hp/tq for my car... i cut 2.1 60'... better than a stock gt.

show me a STOCK (street tire, no mods) 99-04 gt that runs 13.9.

^ exactly.
if you both have average drivers the outcome will be the same.

If you have a kick ass driver in a 6er and get lucky enough to have a demello the v6 will win.
