Passenger side door lock actuator problems.

okay, two things here,

one when i unlock the mustang, i hit the unlock button twice so that the passenger door lock will open for my wife, alot of the time, it opens, but the other times, it will make the sound of it trying to go up but hardly moves, when the car is on, engine running, it will always go up no matter how many times i hit it,

if i hit the unlock button on the passenger door while the car is off like 4 times, the sound stops completely, any ideas how to fix and make the door unlocking reliable?

second, that damn water proof shield got in my way so many times, i basically used scissors and cut it off.......i dont plan on opening my windows while its raining or anything so i dont plan on getting water down there, hope thats okay to do....

go to autozone and buy a new door lock actuator for the pass side.
remove door panel
replace actuator.
put back together.

both of mine went bad last year and it was a 30 minute fix with hand tools

when it goes bad, at first it will be weak and try to unlock the door lock. after a while, though, it will just quit. easy fix though...

walkthrough of this? i thought the locks and stuff were behind the solid metal in the door

you want the window up and the door panel off. you can access the door lock actuators easily... yeah, they are behind the metal. but you remove the 2-3 (dont remember) screws holding the lock to the door and disconnect the rods connecting the actuator to the door lock on the outside of the door (if equipped - some pass. sides have this, some only have it on driver side)... it is in the hayne's manual, step by step. i followed it when doing mine

yeah i just bought mine in the store, but do what is best for you. i bought them in store and then put the old broken ones back in the box and returned them and got them for free...

.........ha, dude i work there and i did that! it was an 02 sensor, i bought like....a while back, under warranty so when i bought my tuner, i took the two o2 sensors off plugged in the old ones, and warrantied out the other ones,justice.
