pooterstang Newbie Join Date: Dec 2006 Posts: 3	new to the forum Hey guys, im new to the forum so i thought Id say hi and ask a question. Is the ford racing t-lok ok or should i get a different brand. I was thinking about geting their t-lok, and a different brand of gears is that kool. Thnanks in advance.

and 3.73, 3.90, or 4.10 gears.

Bruno Newbie Join Date: Oct 2006 Posts: 5	Well i'm still kinda new to all this too, but from what I was reading T-Lok are better than the v6 open differential but depending on what you plan to do you may wanna get a different brand. The biggest drawn back with the T-Lok is that it is a stock part and its not meant to handle high preformance. So if you plan on putting a turbo or supercharger in I wouldn't get a T-Lok. One other small downside to the T-Lok is even thou it is a LSD in a tight turn I have heard of the wheels still losing traction. TORSEN offers a system that offers a bit more control and strength. The TORSEN system will detect the friction on each wheel and depending on the conditions adjust each of the wheels as needed (Up to 80% of the engine's can be transferred to one wheel). Downsides to a TORSEN, however, are that they are a little on the pricey side (500ish) and they only fit 8.8 axles. So if you have a v6 you need to change your 7.5 axle. O and if you have an Auto I recogmend 4.10 gears. I haven't replaced mine yet, but I hear they work well w/ the trans.

itschristorres8 SP00LIN V6 2000 Mustang V6 unknown @390 Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: south florida Posts: 14,619	t-lok will let both rear wheels spin... gears will not give you better hp or tq dyno #'s but it will greatly improve acceleration if you plan on goin turbo, s/c or over 350-400hp any of that will be pointless(-tlok and gears) because it'll be $600-800 waste cuz an 8.8 rear axle will be needed cuz its stronger then the 7.5 the 8.8 rears come with t-lok/limited slip so all you will need is gears, but the stock 8.8 t-lok isnt the strongest thing out there either a 31 or 33 spine t-lok will be need after a certain amount of power as well __________________ 437rwhp and 402rwtq through a V6 on a stock bottom end
