quick air filter question

Hey guys long time no see I've been really busy at my new soon to be old job...but anyway on to the question. When I got my CAI I used the air filter that came with it since my K&N didn't fit it. I have actually gone longer than I should without cleaning the filter. Now I have a K&N filter recharging kit from back when I was using the other filter. I'm 98% positive that this should work fine to clean my current filter(but will most likely change it from blue to red which I really don't care about), but I just wanted to check to make sure that this won't cause any kind of problem that I'm just not thinking of. Thanks.

what type of filter is it?

itll be fine, and they make cleaning kits that have blue oil you can get them online

It is the standard filter that came with the BOMZ CAI. As far as I can tell it is exactly the same as the K&N(except it's blue instead of red). It has cotton fiber with metal mesh over it. The only reason the K&N wouldn't work with my CAI is that it didn't have the connection ring on the end. I could have gone out and gotten a K&N that would have fit, but I figured why spend the $60 for an extra 1/2 HP or less?

Yeah I know, but I don't really care about the color. Like I said I'm 98% sure it will be fine. I just wanted to check with you guys first to make sure.

i have the blue one to, been cleaning mine with K&N for a year now.

So is it still blue or did it turn red? Like I said I don't really care, but I would think that it would.
