i need an engine, help me!

Alright so my mustang is like an old ass grandpa, it has 195 thousand miles on the engine and the new body and paint only have six months. My engine is burning anti freeze, has a blown head gasket, and runs to the L on NORMAL on the temperature gauge. I would say taht it is time for a new engine. It obviously will be used becasue a new one is like bankruptcy. I need advice on how to find a good used motor becasue it seems as though I am in desperate need of one. I have a 3.8 now but i wouldnt mind a 4.6 or 5.0. If it comes down to it i will just take another 3.8. I know that alot of people like to get 4.0 or 4.2s out of old f-150s but thats not my style. HELP ME OUT! Thanks

3.8 direct with no mods would be the cheap, easy way to go.

5.0 would be the somewhat cheap, very very fun way to go.

why isn't a 4.2 your style?

thats what I would do if I had to swap engines, ALSO if you want the experience, get a mustang 3.8 block and transfer the internals to it from the 4.2, why you would do that i don't know but it would be a good chance to learn.

I'm assuming this is a 94 engine. Unless you want to upgrade to dual port intake, which is is 99+, I would recommend to just rebuild what you have. It's a fairly easy engine to work on, or you could swap it for a rebuilt. A used 94 engine might not be a very good deal due to the age of the engine.

put another 3.8 in it but swap to the split port style in the 99-04 motors. its a bolt on 50hp compared to your single port. lacyauto.com is in south VA and that where i got a motor once before. pretty cool people.
