hes right, they can have preset tunes on them which works for most bolt on stuff, but once u get a little more serious ur gonna need a dyno to get things dialed in better

boost is even better in that situation

What kind of shops do rear end gears? Pretty much any local transmission shop? Would they sell the parts that I need there as well?

u can order the gears online prolly for cheaper. u can take the car to just about any shop as long as they are a rag tag type shop.

like a shop that is a cheapo shop that doesnt seem very professional. i think we are closing both the wtb and the for sale sections...everything is done thru the individual sections i do believe

I suppose this isnt really a DIY job? My brother is a mechanic and can help me but is it more of a specialist job that any old mechanic couldnt do?
i just got my 3.73's and tlok installed friday, its its amazingggggggg its definatly not a DIY. if your brother hasnt done gears before, i dont suggest he starts with yours. tlok definatly helps.

I am thinking that the 3.73's are more for me. How do you guys like the Xcal3? It seems pretty popular. Does it have preset configurations so I dont have to bring it into a dyno shop? Anyone got one for sale??? :-)

So I did a little searching and it seems like the t-lok on the 7.5 rear end breaks pretty easily. Can anyone confirm this? What else could I do without going to a 8.8?

Not very hard but I have heard that they have broken on stock power. The Detroit true trac is quite a bit more so if I can get away with the t-loc That would be much better.
BTW my local transmission shop said 450 for the install. That is a bit steep isnt it?
My borther and dad did a complete transmission rebuild by themselves so I think they can handle a rear end differential. Anyone know the cheapest place for a t-loc with 3.73 master install kit?
