morana stroker motors...

if this has been posted before then...sorry..i fail...

i was looking at there site and notice they have 4.2 long blocks and 4.3 long blocks for around 3kish......two questions would be.....would it be a better/cheaper route to buy a motor already built instead of finding a block and building it up....and two.....what kinda HP difference would be between the 4.2 and 4.3....doesnt seem like it would be a dramatic difference but i have never really looked into it...

then a kinda random question...is there anything on there longblocks that dont hold up so well that would need to be replaced with something better...valve springs,rockers,etc... thanks guys

Prices vary greatly from manufactures, depending on what you pay for the parts and how much the machine shop charges it may work.

If the 4.X motor is destroked youll loose some torque on the bottom but can rev it higher. If it just a smaller bore the effects should be minimal but you wont be able to rev higher.

What are your intention? Im building a new short block and tryin to figure out what road to take for it. Building a new motor, need advice.

first off they're in canada so shipping is a bit of money
its $3,700 for a short block 4.2 and 4.3 is $3500 for some reason..then long block is $5,300 with heads that are simply gasket matched....flow numbers arent to hot...

if you think thats cheap check this:
$2890 gets you that same short block- right here
then for $3500 you get ARP main studs with girdle piston coatings and gapless rings for the same price as a morana engine but this one is stronger

then $5120 gets you a long block with CNC heads! that flow good and requires no core for the motor. your getting a better long block then morana that'll make more power for cheaper.
