you would have to get a new tranny and new motor mounts, new chip (if its a newer model 302).....new drive shaft (most likely yours wont bolt up to the new tranny) that should about cover it...if its not then someone will either correct me or add something else

yeah the guy above me pretty much covered it. Are you getting a new 5.0 or one from a car of your model. If you got one from your year it would be an easier install. Overall it will be pretty pricey.

yes it would be longer...you would have to buy a new drive shaft....and i would stay with the 6 since your only 16...you WILL get in trouble with a 8....or you might get hurt....i had a 302 and i wouldnt race a lot (doesnt mean i didnt) but i did get i trouble one time tho...i would wait till you get a little old and more driving experiance then get the 8

dude you still have that 351 that will drop in nice. Saleen did it from 95-00 with the s351 s/c cars all started as a 6 and it is the fastest saleen ever made besides the new extreme.

Not to be a dick, but what does growing up without a dad have to do with any of this. Once I finally convinced the courts that mine was a prick and was trying to kill me...things just then started to get easier. In my opinion you got off easier. I wish I didn't have mine.

For all of you who say that I'm bein a dick for saying that...try living with a dad who hates you because you were born, and abused you for your life until you got away from him. I don't want sympathy or any of that crap, but honestly I don't find that relevant and searching for sympathy over the internet isn't gonna help you out at all.
