m90 on an 02
ok so here goes. i want to sell my vortech and possibly look into an m90. i see these things go for $300-$400 for everything including the lower intake and single port heads. so i was thinking of getting the heads ported and the lower intake ported. isnt it true that ported single port heads flow just about the same as the split port heads? plus i would get tons more torque to go with it. so realistically, what kind of gains can i expect to to see? i dont plan on spending a whole lot on this if i go through with it. also, will the m90 whine similar to the m112. because if so, that is as good as an extra 20-30hp in my opinion. and any advice from split port guys who have done this is greatly appreciated.

dont drop from split port to single, thats a 40 hp loss.
if you were to swap (dont) and ported the singles it'd take away about 20 hp from the loss... you'd still be losing about 20 hp. keep the split port, get them ported.

if you are looking at it from a cost/benefit stand point then it is a very cheap option. If you can sell your V1 for $1000 or so then take that and buy the top part of the single port shit you need for less, go for it.
the only thing is, its a bit of work, you wont see as much top end cause of the difference in chargers, but you are right the M90 has more torque...

if you want to sell the vortech and get a roots supercharger, get the m112. do not drop down to single port and put on the m90... definitely not worth it. split port = m112, single port = m90.

yea but the m112 requires a lot of work as well as a new hood. i can get the whole supercoupe top end for around $400. then have the heads ported to hell and back as well as the lower intake. with those ported, i should see almost as good of gains as ported split port heads. a little less hp, but a lot more torque. then i can get the m90 ported along with the plenum and tb. i could also toss in a cam at the same time. not to mention the m90 has much less heat issues with an INTERCOOLER. something the m112 doesnt have. and looking at the temps it produces, i dont know how long that m112 would hold up. im not looking for 600+rwhp. just a peppy daily driver that can hang with the newer gt's. the m112 is a nifty idea, but it still has a lot of areas to improve on for our car.

the m90 will give you approx 220rwhp and 320rwtq on a stock single port. the intercooler that came stock with the m90 is crap so you will need to either get a double intercooler or a front mount. i am currently doing the m90 swap on my single port... if i had a split port i would have went m112.. better hp better tq and easier to complete... a lot more custom work is involved with the m90 swap
