supercharging the 3.8

So I've been doing alot of research on this topic, mostly on using supercoupe/m90 supercharger parts.

Where should I start? What all should I get ahold of other than the supercharger itself? Oh and has anyone done this sucessfully?? I dont see why not, but to start I'm at a loss....

thanks ahead of time!

I think 2 or 3 people on this site have done the m90 swap. from what ive heard its not easy and you have to like create an intake manifold by some means since none exhist that will bolt right up to the 3.8 motor for the m90. Someone probably tomorrow will be able to give you more specifics. Id search the threads though cause their are a few already out their that discuss just this swap your looking into.

it doesnt work with the 99+ unless if they feel like swapping for a single port setup.

wow that link was really helpful... I guess if I want to do this project the key is just a sc motor, seeing how the stock sc block/pistons/crank and a few other interals are a little stronger.

so would you guys rather buy a stock sc motor and swap out the parts needed or procharge it?

(either option so far is about the same amount +/- $50 shipped)

... if you procharge it you will have to rebuild your engine... sooner or later that is... it might last for a few months... but if you lower the boost

you have a procharger on your v6?
if so how much psi?
n how do you like it?
ive only seen v6ers with vortech
ive always heard and seen that procharger puts out better numbers though, but it also cost more

i saw a 99 6er with a procharger in cali when i was stationed there.. damn that was a sweet ride... i bought my flow's off him lol... but it sounded sweet as hell and it was really fast... he had the car for sale.. i wonder what happened to it? it was red with black w/ chrome lip rims, black widow body kit, black widow hood, and stock wing... annd the wing was painted black and there was a black graphic on the hood... it was sooo freakin sweet... i wish i would of had the money to buy it

A 99 running 7 psi you should be handing that cobalt his ass. What kind of tune do you have in it?

you panzy... your engine is all jacked up or that cobalts got mods! at 7 i was thinking youd be at like 235rwhp and like a boat load of torque! maybe you forgot to connect the pipes to the engine =P you been running N/A all day! that and you need to rebuild the beast with a stage 3 powerpak and some forged internals upgrade to 11psi and fuel pump form gt40 supercar and 41lb injectors and youll stomp everything! cept.. the.. TERMINATOR ! (everyone gasps)

Yeah your engine is probably stressed as hell. Cause I can scare the ss cobalts and I'm not putting down near the numbers you are.
