appearance

so heres the deal. im not going to go with performance in my stang, due to an upcoming addition... so ive decided to go with just working on appearance with my car. ive noticed most people like 17" rims on their stangs but i want to go bigger... to me it just doesnt look like it fits in the wheel well, so ive decided to go 19" or 18".. ive seen plenty of 18" rims but havent seen too many 19". if you got pics of your stang with 18's please lemme know so i can take a look and see if thats the way i want to go. im also trying to decide on the color scheme of my car. its grren now.. and i plan to keep it like that.. im just tryin to figure out if i want to go with a green/black scheme or not. i dont really want chrome rims, but ive been thinking either polished or black w/ chrome lip. it really depends on what else im going to put on the car. i am open to all suggestions!!!... except 17" rims lol

If not chrome then definately go black with the chrome lip. Maybe a black hood cowl decal? Like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-03...spagenameZWDVW

Then get some black mustang letters for the bumper, those r just a couple things to throw out there

i have a 96 stang so the hood decal wouldnt help... also i have a body kit so the letters wouldnt help too much either. im leaning towards the black with chrome lip but im still not sure... im going to keep looking around for more options. thanks for the help though! keep the suggestions comin!

yeah i got tinted windows.. and my body kit is a black widow (non cobra no fog lights) style kit. i screwed it up out here in alaska but im planning on repairing it... thats on good think about figerglass.. you can just re-fiberglass it lol. im going to do a lil bit of custom work on the side skirts as well... to me on a 96 they make it look a lil bit too boxy so im gonna try to fix that a lil bit.. i hope it works haha

19s are too big in my opinion they will slow you down a lot 18 is as big as I would go. As for color black would look good so would like a hypercoated gun metal color thats what I am kinda leaning towards since I am not a big fan of chrome.

well im not worried about going too fast in my stang.. so 19's wouldnt bother me.. im pretty much elaning towards 18's or 19's... i really want to see pics of my year mustang with both sizes or rims and i believe that would help me out a lot more in my decision... so if ya got pics of 18 or 19" rims lemme know!

... go to tire rack.com and see what kinda wheels they have... you can use that as an idea... of sizes and looks... to help finallize your choice...

also ... if you end up getting tires that are the same front and rear... get some 10mm spacers... for the rear tires... i wish i could get some for mine

Here is a link from another thread.

http://www.cruizinconcepts.com/musta...s_and_rims.asp

Those foose rims are sick as sh*t.

I'm gonna get some 18's on my 06. 19's will slow me down. I agree 19's do look nice though.

i only saw 1 S95 model on that page...the rims look good Size wise....the rest of the car....yea

anyway my opinion
18s
lower it a lil not a whole lot..1.5 about all around
mach1 grill delete
tints
light film for all your lights
and i'd say black rims with a chrome or polished lips...BUT if your going with the light film...it'd look wierd the chrome just randomly kinda. so i'd say all black rims

go to the chop shop section of this site and give them a pic of your car, and rims that you want. try all black then black with a chrome lip...see what u like

I have seen 19's on a mustang like yours and it didn't really look all that amazing. It will look funny unless you lower it alot which is also not very amazing.... Ohh... you are gonna feel bumps alot more with 19s... I would go with 18's.

But the hypercoated or black sound sweet thats what I was going to go with but the guy at discount tire gave me an amazing deal on 18 chrome wheels so I took it.

well seeing that kerry and i have pretty much the same body kit... and close to the same paint (mines lighter) the 18's look pretty sweet... they still look a lil bit too small for the wheel wells though... so im prooyl gonna hit up either 19's or 20's... im not a huge fan of pure black rims... but the hyperblack, gun metal, and anthricite looks sweet as hell... im really leanin towards the hyperblack... not too dark but not too bright... just have a good look to em

... oh yea dude gunmetal FTW!!! fuck yea

also if you get new tires... look at thicker tread to fill in the gap... a tire store might be able to tell you the biggest possible size to go with... quite frankly i think the height of my tread wall is a perfect size... so maybe that on 19's

well that is true about the tire size.. but i like to see more rim than tire lol... ive seen chrome 20's on a yellow 94 vert w/ saleen body kit but it wasnt lowered and looked like crap.. it it would have had a 1.5 lowering kit it would have been sweet... im thinkin about goind with 19's and mid-profile tires or 20's with low profiles... ill be feelin bumps but itll look sweet lol
