Short Ram Intake?

hey, whats going on everyone, anyways, I was just wondering do they make a Short Ram Intake for a '04, 3.9l, I tried looking for one online couldnt find one, I would go with a CAI, but im afraid of the whole hydrolocking, especially around here, also I was just wondering are HIDs illegal? I mean I see people with them, but some people tell me its illegal, and some people say it depends on what model of HID you get, idk the last thing I need is to get pulled over and get charge yet another grand on my insurance for a ticket. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

... you could fab one up your self out of a CAI... take of the tube infront of the MAS and put the filter their... you migh have to put a few inches of tube infront of the sensor to give the turbulance a chance to calm down

HIDS are not illegal 100k ones produce a purpleish light and sometime they are mistaken for illegal lights, HIDs are legal.

you better off with stock in take. short ram will suck all the hot engine air in.

With the filter in your Fender, and your car should still have splashguards in the wheel wells you shouldn't worry about water getting into your cai, also with the cai slightly tilted down you should have no problems with water what so ever. Unless you live in an area where it floods like that...I wouldn't be worrying about modding my car, I would be worried about keeping it dry.
