Power Steering??

My '00 Sixer is making these CRAZY noises when I turn the steering wheel. At first it was just a slight grinding noise if i was sitting still and turning the wheel like waiting to to a u-turn, now if I am turning anywhere it makes this grinding/popping/whinning noise. My dad Mr.Chevy says its nothing but it's never been this bad. It's also making another noise that sounds like its at the front of the engine that rattles but not all the time. Most of the time it's if i am coasting, or have just come to a complete stop. Any Suggestions?

... have the radiator fluid flushed and then have some one inspect the front tie rod ends... mine are going out... they are rubber bushings so they will go out... but they wont cause your car to fall apart or anything... well not to badly

Not too badly huh? lol okay I will get that checked out. Is there anyway it could be suspension?
