4.2 Tech, from the 3.8 on!

ok so I went over a guide on some other forumn on how to stroke a 3.8 mustang to a 4.2 with the crank from a ford f-150, they were a little less imformative than i had hoped.

well im not the best with cars but i know what to mess with and not to.. i was hoping for an idea on how easy it would be to "do-it-yerself" i know that some of the parts require being put in place with special tools.. also im not sure if the type of pressure the crank puts out would need a higher number of fuel injectors and fuel pump.. i know it adds a large amount of torque (to something like 240-250 tq) and bumps the hp (to something like 210-220 hp)

really lol this whole post is for people that have information or have stroked their motors to a 4.2.. thanks for the help!

This is not a do it yourself mod unless if you have the knowledge, skill, proper tools, and proper way of doing this. You have to bore out your block and everything. This really isn't a do it yourselfer.

... you shouldn't have to you will need longer rods... their is a difference between borring and stroking... check into moranaV6 racing or what ever its called ... they have stroker kits... that you can install that have intructions and almost all the needed parts and gaskets

yea but a crankshaft for a 3.8 and a crankshaft for a 4.2 arent the same so they really won't just switch in and out. They may be from the same block, but I'm pretty positive they just won't switch right out. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure about that.

Ehh don't worry about it. All of us do this. Just seriously to warn you don't mess with Chris. He'll win...even if he is wrong(Still say it's a six). I say find out, and go for it. Would be a fun little project to do.

yeah my rx-7 was a dream.. it just helped that it was a R1.. we had put uhm a 3'' down pipe and other little bolt-ons and she was purrin at a 320rwhp 340rwtq dyno.. oh man it was nice.. but i have looked these 3.8 blocks in an out.. they are outragously good motors.. they just went cheapo on some of the things that add performance.. (coming from a guy with a wankel remmeber that!)

your coming to dallas! sweet deal dude.. it is crappy down here.. it went from like 88degrees to 30degreess to 50 to 20 to 76 so .... yeah lol its horrid texas weather.. but its supposed to snow! (big deal for texans)

by the way.. i was running my rx-7 on the track and i shifted and the torque caught enough it pushed the front end hard and i couldnt get the wheel to stay straight and slammed into the wall.. TOTALLED! i know sad story...

Damn.. i would have to be geared up in like snow boots and thermals for 10 degree weather.. but you prolly dont have to deal with 110degree summers either tho?...

what do you think about spintech exhaust..? no1 else says they like them but the people around my area say it sounds unique and real mean
