v6/gt headlights

Is it possible to order headlights that will fit only a gt and not a v6?
I bought aftermarket headlights from a guy on here and he said that he had them on his gt...

But when I went to put them on the back of them are way to big to fit in the allowed space... the back is too wide, and too long. I actually cut away at some of the bracket to try to make it fit. So it for sure will not fit my car. What do you guys think?

That is the back of the light...
What do you think? does that look right to you AB or whoever else has replaced with aftermarkets?
I bought these off of Garrett on here... he said he had them on his 98 GT... and that he just preferred stock look better...

ask him how much he had to trim it. this might help you out. he seems okay to me, ask him to work with you on this a bit.

also, make sure you get the lights them selves aligned right and wired in the correct order, people don't enjoy being blinded.

You posted some good information above. Park your car on level ground facing squared to a wall. Mark an X on the wall a little right of the midpoint of the vehicle and a little low of the midpoint of the vehicle (as to not blind oncoming traffic and to see the shoulder better).

Align lights to shine on X.

Enjoy

He told me they were a direct fit to his GT.
I trimmed the bracket ALOT... actually broke a connecter piece where the stock headlights bolt up at...
When I had it off, it looked like there was no way of getting it in there. I was going to try again... but sleeping on it I'll really be screwed if I break the other piece where it bolts in... then I'll have a hanging headlight.
I've reached this conclusion:
1.) Either my car is weird from others...
2.) He ordered them, didn't fit his, lied and said they did, and resold them.

2 sounds extremely more likely... especially since he said he was going to do some digging last night when he got home, and then call me (after I said I'd like a refund since they dont fit... I'd pay return shipping), and he never called me back.

The clear corners DO fit my car, and I was going to leave them on my car... but one of the black weatherstrips have been torn off. Didn't notice in the picture when I bought them and he didn't say anything, and he told me he had no idea it was ripped off (lol). He turned from pretty cool to bullshit real fast.

ALSO. The deal was $55 and he paid shipping...
Then he told me he just couldn't do it because when he went to USPS they said it'd be 30 dollars to ship them. I told him we could just split down the middle... so I sent him $15 dollars with the $55
When they got here I looked on the boxed, total shipping was $20.xx

Guess I need to trash them? It's pretty lame having to throw out 70 dollars.

try to work everything out before you jump to conclusions about someone cheating you, you do have the right to ask for the return since he said they wouldnt bolt right up to yours, False advertisement (without knowing it on his part i assume.)

he doesn't have any rights, the transaction is complete and done, there was no false advertisement, he stated the lights were from his 98 GT and the buyer purchased them knowing this. On that note, the transaction was complete, the buyer got his item and the seller got his money. Nothing was fucked in transaction. NOW out of the kindness of his heart the seller can refund and take the product back, but the transaction is said and done.

over the phone he said they bolted right up. onemanzu, you are not the one that just threw 70 dollars out the window to a guy saying it would fit... and i dont think im going to take my headlight back out to show a picture for you... like i said, i cut it so much i broke into one of the attachment pieces. there STILL isn't room for it to fit in, even with that much cut out, and im not going to risk breaking the other piece it attaches to and having to pull my bumper off and ALOT of other stuff to have to replace a bracket that all that crap hooks up to, just so a headlight will stay on... lol!
it is very obvious by looking at the back of the light it wont fit directly. and i called him and told him it looked really big as soon as i got it... he assured me that because the v6/gt lights are same it will be a direct fit because it fit directly to his.
im pretty sure what i stated about him is correct, i tried to make it fit, and when not possible tried to get a refund, and he wont call me back. therefore i am NOT jumping to conclusions.
i got screwed plain and simple, by someone who ordered a wrong part, and abused this forum to put it off on someone else.
nothing is going to change my attitude towards this guy until i get a call from him, which obviously isn't going to happen.
