Vortech Tech Support BEWARE
Twice this month Vortech has been wrong, DEAD WRONG, about two very important issues I called in about. Their customer service knows very little and every call ends up with the same conclusion- a sales pitch trying to get you to send the supercharger in to them. What a joke.
Case #1- I called in asking if I could convert a CW (clockwise) S Trim from an old 5.0 project to a CCW (counterclockwise, reverse rotation) unit. Specifically I asked if I could just change the impeller and volute. Vortech answer: Nope, it dosen't fit, the gears are all single direction, and it's IMPOSIBLE to do. Reality: It's so easy it hurts: just change the impeller and volute an your done, the supercharger IS NOT ROTATIONALLY dependant beyond these components. The old S-Trim is a straight cut gear and even has oil fittings drilled out on BOTH SIDES of the housing. Case #2- I was selling the S-Trim CW impeller from the above project on Ebay so I could buy a 928 motorports CCW impeller. The guy who bought it had an honest question- would it work on an A-Trim. Vortech answer: Oh, yeah, no problem. WRONG. A-Trims have a 2.5 volute inlet and the S-Trim has a 3.0 inch inlet. Both times all the guy on the phone wanted to do was get me to send the S/C in. Why? Neither situation made any sense to send in. Both situations mislead me and I could have gotten an honest answer right here from people who know 10x more about this stuff right here on the forum. Both instances have cost me mucho $$$$$ So my question is to Vortech, why have a customer service phone# if the info is all misleading? Just say you don't know if you don't know at least??? ![]()

Sounds like pretty basic questions that should have been able to be answered. I've e-mailed them several times asking them a question but they never reply. They replied once and it was irrelevant to the question.

They are in business to make money , they dont make money if you working on the units yourself , they wont warranty anything unless they do the work as well , thats what they get paid for is to get you to send it to them ....
