Glad to hear it worked out for you.

In other news, here is the front page message on the website now:
Hello and welcome to BamaChips.

We have suspended our parts sales for a few days in order to catch up on our current orders and emails. Please don't worry, we are still in business and still shipping orders in the order they are placed. We feel this is the best way to handle our current customer orders and emails and to catch up fromthe holidays and the orders we have pending. You may still contact us using our contacts page to find out any order status and/or tech support questions you may have.
Thank you,
Doug

This should have been done some time ago and please notice that even Doug felt the need to reassure people that he is still in business. As for my dispute, at this point I will be equally happy to either get what I ordered or just get my money back and walk away from this bad experience.

Doug was really understanding with me. The old guy that worked there was named matt. Gave me a wrong tune and COMPLETELY made my car run bad, Won't turn on, cel was one, swear my transmission hasn't been the same, Which its in the shop for. He was fired a few months ago and when I heard doug was having problems I gave him another chance. He sent me 2 tunes. Great guy and great service. He's one guy running the whole website, tunes and whatnot. Not saying that is a good excuse but still.

I got my tunes and 2 weeks later went to a shop to get a tune for my car alone. That being said it's so much better going to someone that can get a computer ON your car and not a dummy tune. Hopes this helps

When did you place your order? Maybe there's still hope for me.

I placed my order with Bama on NOVEMBER 1st, still no word from him. Last email from him was on the 13th of December, saying he would ship by next Monday.

I ordered an intake and tune. US$645.00 and 68 days later no items......

I placed my order on 18 Nov 09. I too sent him emails and finally just disputed the transaction. Here's the latest message I got from PayPal...

"After careful review, we have concluded our investigation of the Buyer
Complaint described below.

We have decided in your favor, however, we were unable to recover any funds
from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery
of funds associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed.

Please know that we will make our best effort to recover the funds in
question if they become available in the seller's account in the future and
will take appropriate action against the seller. Such action may include
issuing a warning, a temporary restriction, or terminating the account.
Keep in mind that PayPal uses a number of factors to determine when to take
action, including member complaints. Due to privacy laws, we cannot discuss
the details of any action taken. We hope you understand our policy and that
it assures you that you are safe using PayPal."

From the look of things I think he may be robbing Peter to pay Paul.

i seem to remember threads like this last year regarding bama.... the dude is flooded with work constantly, especially during the winter when everyone and there brother is modding there cars in the down time and need new tunes
Dude are you kidding? Vacation is no excuse for parts to take 30 days to ship, and if so he should be letting his customers know. He is running a business here and if he goes on vacation then someone should be back shipping his orders. Especially 600 bucks worth, I would be fucking livid.

And he probably is correct under the assumption that bama is going down the shitter, hell he formally made an apology to everyone about how bad his employees have fucked up his company and he is trying to remedy that.

+1 I like to make sure a company has a reputation for getting products to the customers and having little to no problems along the way. Even if it's an Ebay seller, they better have great feedback or I'll go find someone with better feedback selling a similar/the same product (even if I have to pay a little more to know I'll be getting my stuff).

You pretty much rest my case. Do you think if Nick or someone at AM wen't on vacation you wouldn't get your parts? Of course you would, you know it and I know it. That's good business practice. What BamaChips is doing is NOT good business practice and they will never see a dime of my money.

viciousride I feel your pain. My paypal dispute ends at 12:00 tomorrow night. Thanks to you I guess I know what I can expect. I will update here when I get word.

Just looked at Bamachips website. Front page says they are accepting tune orders. Of course they are...it doesn't cost anything to produce a tune, while our money has already been spent - most likely not on our parts orders.

weems...thank you.

Just hung up with Discover. The days of price protection are over. They said they will not guarantee the funds due to the economy and blah blah blah. Well I've done what I can and I'm moving on.

Huh? What does that have to do with anything that I just posted?

Bottom line, Doug is in the wrong, in no way shape or form is it ok for him to not let his customer know when his parts are coming.

Rags what are you saying lol. I dont really understand. Why are you standing up for a guy that is dicking people around? He has not returned emails, dicked people out of 600 bucks and has no intentions of sending out parts obviously. But your standing up for him why?

Cause you truly believe he is on Vacation?! Well he is on Vacation with the money he ripped from people on here.

And like Weems said if I ordered 600 dollars worth of stuff for my Mustang from American Muscle (which I did on wendsday) I know for a fact it will be at my door step in no longer than a week. Thats why I have no worry about it.

Nick could be in timbucktoo and guess what my shit will still be at my door in a week. Thats the definition of a good company. Not one that when someone goes on "Vacation" the whole operation stops.

In fact I ordered wheels from American Muscle and they where here in 7 business days A WHOLE SET OF RIMS! Shipped free of charge ground freight.

How Bamachips should have handled this situation (im going to give him the benifit of the doubt that he is truly on vacation and he is the only one that works for his business which I highly doubt)

He should have planned for the vacation at least a few weeks in advance I imagine. Then shipped out all orders before he leaves and took no more orders while he was on vacation. Then resumed business as normal when he returned a year later

Update: Paypal has credited my account the money back today and it should go back to my credit card in 3 to 5 days.

Apparently a few people have received emails from Doug referring them back to paypal to get refunds. I never got one of those emails but maybe he just hasn't gotten to me yet.

Anyway I am relieved to have my money back and my faith is restored in paypal, as it is they who are covering the loss. I'll be favoring my visa's and mastercards over discover after all of this too.

For any others that are going through this, keep following up with paypal.
