i was looking at them for a rear seat delete kit for the track. they make reallu nice kits, and the vinyl ones look realy classy too- and with storage compartments.

they are mostly 1/4" ply carpeted or covered. i just take the rear and pass. seats out for track passes though. i also took out the spare tire/jack and fiberglassed 1/4" ply over the hole to keep a sturdy trunk surface. the rsd is still about as half as heavy as the seats themselves.

The only problem I would have is that I have a hatch with the fuel cell and battery inside the vehicle and track rules require a metal fire barrier between the drivers compartment and the fuel cell. So I just gutted the heavy stuff out of the factory rear seat and left the cushioning on the factory metal backing and voila!! A metal fire barrier that folds down to cover the back seat.

right on... i have a custom box in mine and it covers the spare so if i ever get a flat id never be able to change it so i am just gonna take the spare out for less weight

http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...te-vt1543.html

basically, i carpeted it for the V6FC race, but now i took the carpeting out from under rear seat and put the seat back in and completely removed the amp/subs/wiring harness. so for track time, my car is pretty stripped and safe. for street time, it is still passenger friendly...
