RPM Outlet (Houston, TX): LOWLIFE LYING THIEVING SCUMBAGSHello, and sorry to make my first post bad news, but maybe my misfortune will save somebody a couple of dollars. I got on to RPM Outlet in Houston, ordered the standard NA stuff: CAI, tuner, 3.73's, T-lok, shims. Set me back $950. Two weeks and four phone calls - nothing. Finally, they tell me I've a package inbound. When it comes, only the differential's in the box - but no packing slip, no invoice, no manufacturer's packaging. So I have no idea if it's the right part for my car, and no idea where the rest of my shipment is. Call them back and get the runaround. Decided I've had enough, and I go to the BBB and my bank to file complaints. After my bank contacts them, they get off their duff and mail out my computer and CAI; that's on its way. No telling if it's going to be correctly programmed. After I talked to them today, they said because I've initiated a dispute, they will not talk to me any further. AFTER I go through all this trouble, I go online and find out what would have saved me a thousand bucks: BBB has them rated 'unsatisfactory'. Dumb on my part. Word to the wise: Don't spend money with these lowlife scumbags. Save yourself the heartache. There've got to be a thousand reputable dealers out there that won't put you through this trouble. That's all. Avoid these guys like the plague. Your car and you deserve better. |

Well i got a CAI and a throttle body from there and it sent pretty quickly. I put it on myself and im kinda having problems with it but i think its just because it needs tuned. Hopefully it wasnt RPMs fault because that could get interesting. But ya sorry about you problem...hope it all works out.

that sucks, man. i've only ordered from them once. i paid $300 for a BBK throttle body/ plenum combo. i didn't have any problems with them, but i have heard a lot of horror stories. i haven't ordered from them since, and i don't plan on it. anyway, on a happier note, welcome to the site. glad you plan on sticking around.

There has been a *lot* of bad press about RPM Outlet on the web lately.
At one point they were very good but apparently something has changed and they have gone downhill faster than a pig on rollerskates. |

the few times that I have used them I never had a problem. Customer service was great when I emailed them a question and shipping was quick.
Sorry that your experience sucked brah. |

I actually got more than I bargained for. I ordered the RPM series TB/Plenum combo and received a 75mm ACCUFAB TB/Plenum instead which they had at almost $220 more. Sold the Accufab on Ebay for $400, ordered again the same C&L setup and this time received the polished professional products 75MM which was $20 more than the C&L RPM series and still had $200 left for my Long Tubes. So I made $200 on the deal, of course I didn't call them to tell them. I just bored out the plenum a little more, it looked a little restricted in stock form. They seem to have good prices and some packages that they have "dyno" proven. Good info on this thread. I don't know if I want to bargain my luck with them again.

You must have gotten the Professional Products TB/Plenum I ordered because they sent me the C&L plenum but charged me the full price of the Professional Products kit.
They are very difficult to contact. Unresponsive after contact. All sales are final after 15 days, even if they screw up. And, a no refund policy. I suspect they ship anything they have inorder to book the sales and get your money. After that its exchange only.
