I was slipping it pretty hard at 5000rpm haha, and i was shifting 1-2 at around 5000 2-3 at 5700 3-4 at 5700 power shifting all but 1-2. The day i was running my friend said that from the line he could hear 4th chirping... and i still get pissed off every day that i didnt grab my camera. I didnt think my friend was coming so didnt bother.

I never said they were hurting you. I'm not completely sure what gear is better for these cars, but I went with 3:73's because I wanted to go with cams or F/I. In either case, most of my power will be made in the higher RPM's, so why on earth would I want to shorten the amount of time I stay there?

That's my opinion, It could be wrong. My cams go in saturday, and hopefully in a few weeks, I'll be at the track so, we shall see.

I can see where your logic is, your almost thinking in terms of having a turbo. I think 4.10's would help if i cant get in the 1.6's for my 60ft time. If gears are used as a torque multiplier then i would feel like i had more torque, but i have 322rwtq on a std# dyno so thats around 310rwtq. That should be enough to get me good short times right there. When i roll raced a new edge with 4.10's and bolt ons i was still pulling him in 3rd and 4th so im kinda up in the air about the gears. Even in the video my friend had 4.10's and should have around the same hp # as me if not more, but in 3rd and 4th im still pulling. so idk, if anyone has some insight please share.

the next time i run ill have weld prostars 15x4 15x10 (26in tall tire), built rear (so i can actually launch now) new shocks/struts (got rid of strange stuff and got kyb). as long as the rear holds with 6000rpm drops, im hoping for 1.6xx 60ft 12.5-6 1/4 at 107-108. The difference will be launching, and i dont have to short shift 2nd and i can powershift it (was shifting 1-2 at 4800-5000). with longtubes, cams, kmember, and weight reduction i dont see why i cant be around trevors time with stock heads. But i wana do it with the gears i have now for us 3.73 guys.

I love my 3.73's, imo its the perfect gear. BTW are you running h&r supersport springs?

I got my springs in 07 from a&m and i could have sworn they werent super sports. I looked it up once and found they had a sport spring and thats what i think i have. My friend has them and our cars are not the same.

Also i think 4.10s would help because it would make sense to try and get the car to come as close to around 5500 in 4th by the 1/4 so that you can fully use all your power. your not getting out of your power band quicker with 4.10s your getting into the next power band faster. I still like my 3.73's though.
