I see the listing on the site, but got myself a nice "red X" in place of vid itself......hmmm A big WHOO HOO though, as it is #4 on the popular list as of now and 7 pepes have downloaded it.

I see the quality is not so nice on other vids, so if it doesn't take too long to download, the quality will be FAR, FAR better than others hosted on site.

.... my search continues for a site that will host it in its quality.

Dex.... that vid is taken from Skaggs Springs Road (I think you mentioned your buddy and a pig on that one). It terminates about 5 miles later at HWY 1 about 2 miles South of Sea Ranch.

That is actually the 30fps at low-res setting and not 30fps high-res setting. I experimented with both resolutions on the same stretch of road on separate passes. I found that the high-def video tends to be a little more blurry at the edges of the frame. I am able to pause the low-res video on my 21" comp. monitor and looks like a DVD paused.... fantastic!

I have a bunch more vids, but g/f was bragging about my prowess and picked up by the mic. This could be a bit embarrassing, but of course, I was in full agreement

Jazzer, here's a reccomendation.

Some guy from another forum i go to put a mic in the engine bay of his prelude while he drove around Thunderhill. It was pretty creative.

And Fort ross would be great if you could block off traffic and actually carve into those twisties

I found I can cover the mic with my finger and completely eliminate any sound recording. Since there is no way to NOT record sound on movies, this will be the way to go. If you listen close, you can hear us BS'n about whether or not I had recorded that pass. Most of them you can hear some Page/Plant from Unleaded

Dex, I will hopefully see you on the 30th in Santa Rosa autoX and will put the camera set-up in your ride. VERY easy to do and can get you all fixed up in about 30 seconds. I have PLENTY of storage for vids and can get every pass from each of us. I can hook you up with a DVD of all your passes as soon as I find a program and figure out how to edit video I am VERY familiar with editing audio, but have done zero with vids.

Anyway, I am happy with the quality of the vid hosting, but is better than what is presented above. I also found out yesterday that the difference between what I have referred to as high-res/low-res seems to be dimensions of the screen. The high-res will completely fill my 16:9 54" TV, while the low-res will be well short of the edges (note to self, must use proper photography lingo for describing cool stuff and sound like I know what the hell I am talking about)

I will be tinkering a bit more prior to my upcomming Jim Russell High Performance Driving School day out at Infineon next Tuesday. I need to install a rubber bumper between the camera and windshield to stop the vibration that gets pretty bad on rough roads. Lots of shaking and hoping that will help avoid "see sickness" during playback.

BTW.... our new pres is looking to inact 100% uniform smog requirements in all 50 states (there is still 50 right? Did San Francisco suceed from the Union yet?) I guess I'd better stop posting images of the Cailfornia Twisties as I may be partly responsible for the REST of the world moving to Cali (Mama is welcome, of course )

I like my smog requirements in VA. They look for cats and thats about it. I don't want to be hooked up to the sniffer. I wish people who didn't know fucking shit about cars would keep their asses out of the legislation of them.
