have you guys ever seen the show? they do comparisons like that all the time. and they hate on almost everything american.

and as for comparing a lotus to zr1 at the strip is just as dumb. the lotus is purpose built to be lightweight and fast around corners. not go fast in a straight line. actually both cars are built to turn, so why not compare them back to back on the road course?

I've watched nearly every episode. I feel that the "hate" of American cars is just for the feel of the show. Go watch the one where they review the then new GT500 and put it on the dyno. Tell me that's not hating on the car. Complaining b/c it advertises 500hp and doesn't make 500rwhp. Not knowing the difference between crank and wheel hp is either ignorance on their part (lets hope not b/c it's a show about cars) or poking fun and hating on it.

If you anyone can find where they review the Mustang, you will see that they said they loved it as a car. The hating on the American cars is just for the show. There is also another one with a ZR1, CTS-V, and a Challenger and the only one they didnt care for was the challenger.

Top Gear is not to be taken seriously. They compare lambo's to ordinary cars, like civics or citroens or something. I dont remember. I think the normal car won because it had more cupholders.

First of lotus is made more of a handling car then speed and it only weighs 2022lbs with 240hp come on common sense that a car that small and light is obviously gonna be able to handle better and accelerate faster its a lose lose situation i think they just do it to make the British cars look better

"all americans eat burgers and are fat". they make fun of our muscle cars becuase alot dont have independent suspension, etc.. thats just the way brits are becuase there jealous, and there butts still hurt over the revolutionary war. sadly top gears my favorite show and you just half to get over it. btw that was a lame comparison.

well i wouldn´t say they hate all american cars, Jeremy loves the ford gt and got one and when he tested the viper srt10 he was amazed by the car... of course Jeremy loves brit cars specially Land Rover cause they are one of the best SUVs out there... but I´ve also seen him talking really bad about german cars specially porsche..

Exactly. They're like South Park, in the end they hate on like everything. They have several whole episodes where all they do is talk about how great British cars are, while the whole episode the cars they're driving are falling apart.
