Holy crap..... Hope he made it out of that one OK. That tire had to have gotten 30-40 feet of air.

There not allowed to use wheelie bars in the 10.5" street tire class. These cars trap at 200+ on basically big street tires. They have some serious balls.

And he still lost by .2 seconds... sadface

Looks like the wind gets under it once it gets going. Maybe a better chin spoiler or something?

Yeah that'll fix it.... maybe he could strap a set of bottle rockets to the front bumper to help keep it from pulling the front tires...

I have known Dennis for a long time & he doesn't like to lift off the throttle especially when its a close race. He has been in many wrecks & his driving skills have got him out of so many close calls but this has to be the worse crash for him. Oh yeah that was his slower Mustang...lol
Here is the local news interview with Dennis. Mid-South drag racer says he's lucky to be alive after crash - WMC-TV 5 - Memphis, TN

Yeah the radial tire class is unbelievable now. He was running full slicks on that car though, but I have seen another mustang run within a 10th or 2 of that car thru the 1/4 on a drag radial though & I think it was a 275/60 DR at that.
