probe gt with mazda motor

I have something interesting here. Or not... either way. My buddy has an early 90's probe. It has a Mazda Millenia motor in it. It's not running perfect and a lot of parts are still off the car.

jusat a tidbit you know a Probe is a Mazda right? The swap is not a difficult thing because of that.. I helped do one and we turboed it also.. I seen it run a 12.89 at the track..

Yeah I know its a common thing. It's the third mazda motor this car has seen. But I just though I had some decent footage that I'd share.This one running properly should have no problem running high 14's.

Any clue what the one you worked with ran n/a without the turbo?

No sorry the turbo was put on from the beginning.. By the way the 12.89 run was with front slicks.. Prob high 13's or slower with street tires. the boost came on and the tires roast.. Lose alot of time there..

Pics of my 94 GT follow..(not like the one in the vid tho - mine's still n/a... haha but she's still quick) with the stock Ford/Mazda 24V DOHC V6, though currently the car is broke, thus I'm in the market for a replacement KLZE (japan's take on the American KL engine) to swap into the car. Ran a best 14.9 with every bolt on imagineable and a healthy tune on street tires. So I'm in envy of your buddies car man, though mine's way purrrty-er

no vids but the borla header-back exhaust system (non catted) sounded f'n amazing for a 6er.

If nobody can tell, I am a huge Probe fanatic, just as much I am a mustanger. One day soon I'd like to see what I can't do with a turbo'd 89 Probe Gt. Those scoot pretty good for a stock 80's 4 banger... Screw it, front wheel drives can be cool. There. I said it. Torque-steer sucks though :wink

I was a SHO fanitic myself... n my bro n law had a 94 GT that was modded and my 93 Taurus SHO killed him every time... mmmmmaaaaahahahahaahaha then my sister drove it n then it got t boned n now they drive a 02 seabring...

Nice probe snaker. I never knew these cars had any potential what so ever until I saw my buddies probe. I guess we need to take it to the track to see if we can break 14's. But that will have to wait until it's running spot on.
