Saying goodbye to the sumis

Just a little burnout before I get rid of these wheels/tires. I definitely will not miss them lol.

Thanks man it's BBK shorites into a de-catted slp x pipe and slp loudmouth catback but the loudmouths have been replaced with magnapacks. I'm much happier with the deeper tone.

No better way to get rid of old rubber than that! Car sounds great by the way.
And what are you going to get for tires now? Nittos?

Thanks for all the compliments on sound guys. I did a lot of research after not being happy with my loudmouths and decided that magnapacks were the sound i was looking for, but to get the true tone I would have to de-cat. It was a headache making my own cat delete pipes and getting them to seal on the motor side so I'm really happy that it sounds good and other people think so too, reps to all. The new wheels are flat black fr500's with some nitto 555's. Wanted the 555r's but not the treadlife lol.

^I know what you mean. When I first went to look at the car before I bought it, I was like....eh....but it ran great, made good power, looked decent, and sounded mean so I made the purchase. Then I lowered it, redid the exhaust to my taste, tinted windows, and threw new tires on it and started taking some pictures, the scoop really started looking good to me. Gave a simple old hood a bit of character and I think it made a typically timid looking car look a bit more aggressive without upgrading to the all-too-common 3 inch cowl that ever sn95 has these days.

And thanks for the compliments by the way!

And Jersey, you said you won't miss the Sumitomos...I'm guessing those were the HTRZs....315s? I had those on my old 96 GT, but only put about 1500 miles on them before I sold it. What didn't you like about them? I noticed they were shit in the rain and I could turn them pretty easily even with a basically stock 96 4.6L.
I'm going to be thowing on some 10.5 inch rims and will need tires....I want a 315 and the price of the Sumis is so attractive, but I obviously don't want a shit tire. I just don't want to drop the cash for Nittos if I don't have to.

Yeah that's exactly why I don't like them. I can break them loose in 3rd in the rain without giving it more then half throttle. Shit for grip on the street in the dry weather too. Not horrible tires, just obviously cheap.

Yeah, I remember driving in the rain on the highway and taking a pretty good curve at 50-55mph and the ass end gettin a little squirrly on me. I have Sumitomo HTRZ II's on right now in a 275...they seem to get great grip, but they dont have them in a 315. THey are almost a bit too soft tho. The good year eagles the car had when I bought it were perfect. Not as grippy as the HTRZ II's tho. Got good traction, but I could still throw the ass end all over the place. Love those tires...but a bit rich for me!
