Finally done...
Car is done. Went to the track last weekend. Heres the low down.
Didn't have any carb jets. I was running the carb just as John T sent it to me. Its a Holley Pro-Systems 850cfm. It was super rich, it would burn your eyes in the garage starting it up and idling. Here is a video of that... Its coughed a couple times out of the carb. Got that issues resolved later. Now. Mind you. Here is how it was set up the night I raced. DA was around 4200' btw AFR at burnout, 10.5:1 ish AFR at WOT 4000-6500, 10.1:1 AFR at WOT 6500-8000, 9.8ish:1 MSD timing, flat at 25* (wanted to be safe) Still running FRPP Shorty headers with custom down pipe Launching the car easy the first 2-3 runs at 2500-3500 Short shifting at 6500ish and granny shifting Wanted to get a feel for the car. I knew it was rich, better than lean, so I was easy on it regardless.. Anyway. First pass 8.2 or 8.3@88mph, this was the granny shifting, easy launch, etc etc Last pass for the night, 5500rpm launch, shifted 1-2 at 7200-7500, 2-3 at about 7400, and ran third out to 8000 at the traps. 7.1@99. Mind you NO powershifting, carb rich, shitty shorttubes, and no real timing in the car, and on pump gas. I have no doubts this is a solid 6.x car at over 100mph... enjoy the videos...I honestly have no idea who the guy is that took the videos, but he did a good job. My best run he missed, but he did catch a 7.2 or 7.3 run. Just click on his user name and scroll through his videos and if it says 'fox body', then that is prob me. Over all...Im happy. Can't wait to lean it out and try again... Oh and P.S. Thanks to John T of ModularPerformance and lets not forget about Mike... Thanks to Zak of TheT45Source.com Thanks to Todd (NA SVT) for all the help on cams and general BS Thanks to Kelly (ModularSpeed) for selling me all the stuff I didn't need...jk... Thanks to Phil Kinsley for all the welding Thanks to Brandon of ZZ custom Fab in Wichita Falls Tx And Tommy Keeter and Chris Dollar of KPE (Keeter Performance Engineering) in Wichita Falls, TX and thanks for all my buddies coming over and lending a hand and drinking all my beer... on an end note...I found a buddy in the town I was in racing in, with some Holley jets and he showed me how to jet it down, we got the AFR around 12.3-12.5...went back to the track saturday night, and first run it was running like a MOFO, and I broke the trans. me and Zak already have it worked out and will be getting it taken care of ASAP. Great guy! I recommend him to anyone! Heres that pass..
