Could a mustang do this?

Do you think a foxbody 5.0 could perform like this Lancia S4? Im not trying to dis the mustang i just wanna know if it's possible.

Depends on how you define "Mustang".

If it's remotely stock, no. IIRC, the S4 was a group B rally car, and that means AWD and a lot of power combined with a chassis that weighs almost nothing.

Now, you could build a tube-frame car, hang Mustang-looking CF body panels on it, power it with a modified Mustang engine and run it through a beefed up version of the Exlorer's AWD drivetrain, but at that point is it really a Mustang?

Mustangs were never built with rally in mind. Now, if you're looking at that kind of performance, Ford had the RS200, which is a wicked little piece of Escort.

Depends on which portion you're talking about. A full GR40 or Maximum Motorsports equipped Mustang is a very competently handling car, and on dry pavement is not giving up anything to the Lancias.

Yeah, check out NASA's American Iron series (Camaro-Mustang Challenge, American Iron, American Iron Extreme, aka CMC, AI, and AIX) if you want to see fox-chassis Mustangs battling it out on the road course.
