Fun with line locks part II

You might remember last week I started a topic called fun with line locks and had some pics of a burnout I did.
This past weekend was the first racing event with linelocks. In the past I had a hard time getting a good, smokey burnout. The link below is a video of my burnout with line locks from this weekend. It was the tracks 50th anniversary bash, I won the street class mostly because I could get a nice burnout every round and keep everything consistent. My best time of the day was 13.08 during a time trial with the average being about 13.18 during elims.

That was 2nd gear. If I had a supercharger I might attempt 3rd. Got enough smoke as it was. People were egging me on in the stands because i was the only car in street class doing a smokey burnout.

Yeah, still getting used to shifting while doing a burnout. The shift light catches me off guard and I shift a little early (5800).

Actually, I'm not sure. I'm in NE Ohio so we aren't too far above sea level.

Im not trying to tell you how to do your job, but it looks like you need to let off the gas a little after they get spinning... Maybe its just me...Kudos on the burnout though.

Was it really hot or something? Because with your mods you should be in the 12s.

It was in the low 80's. Do you know my mods? I thought 13.08 was pretty good for the mods below.

JLT II CAI and Bama 93 tune
BMR LCA and Relocation brackets
MT ET Street Drag Radials
Roush Rear Springs
no front sway bar
line locks
O/R X-pipe
still have stock 3.55 gears.

I estimate altitude about 1500 - 2000 ft

The track was in bad shape too. They had it resurfaced but the top end is buckling. Kicks you around pretty good. Street cars aren't allowed to run faster than 13 and pro cars are limited to 1/8 mile until the track is fixed. Had I known this I never would have gone there.

The best I've ever done is 13.07 on a 60 degree night but that track goes uphill at the end which slows you down. My next mod will be a 1 piece driveshaft. That should put in the 12's. I'll get 4.10's next year as well.

I will be going to Norwalk in a couple of weeks, that is supposed to be a really fast track. Maybe I'll get into the 12's there.

13.08 and 13.18 are very good numbers. What are your 60’ times? Also you mentioned consistent that’s what its all about. A set of 410’s and your in the twelve’s.
