I actually have to agree with Si on this one. Toronto has a gigantic tuner crowd, and from the couple of shows I have been to, there are a shitpile of so-called 'ricer' cars there. But then you come across the really well done cars that actually are done properly, and not only look great, but are powerful and sound it.

Unfortunately the imports that stick in our minds are the ridiculous ones we see with ugly body kits, gigantic wings, and goatse sized fart cans. But we have a couple of Civics here in town that are running 500+ hp, without spray. I've not seen these things go down the track or seen dyno sheets on them, but I have seen them racing, and I wouldn't touch them with my car.

500 hp may not be a huge number in the hardcore drag racing world, but it's pretty serious when that 500 is in a 2200 lb. car. That would be the equivalent of an average 3300 lb. Mustang GT having 700 hp.

I think real import enthusiasts need to make a stand and speak out against ricers. Seriously. The first thing 90% of people think about when they hear "import performance" is those lil fuggers.

I had a sleeper turboed Eclipse try and run me down the other night. I left him but he was pretty quick.

We got off at the same exit and he pulled next to me and said "damn you gotta love t hat American muscle bro,what you got in there ?" He had his girl in the car,and they were both cool as shit.

Now ,Im not an Eclipse fan but I gave him props for the work he did to make his car actually fast. I respect import owners like that who dont live in a fantasy world and can admit when a domestic got em.

I am the exact same way as you guys. I point and laugh at gaudy riced out *insert any brand of car here*. They don't embody what the majority of honda enthusiasts stand for. For that reason, I don't associate with them. Some of the quips you guys come up with against ricers are great, but the shit said about them on hondaswap tops it all. Hardcore enthusiasts/ex-enthusiasts (ones who moved onto better cars for themselves) know whats up and will drop the jokes on ricers.

I wish the 12 page thread on Hondaswap where it was all of us ripping apart a guy asking about body kits to make his car look faster wasn't deleted. It was funny as shit.

When there is something that looks stock, or doesn't have any looks whatsoever on it but is a force to be dealt with, I love it.

The CRX in that video; that guy is a true tuner. All the money went into performance, and it shows. Turning a beater into a sleeper is what it's all about with these older cars.
