first in 11s? if so grats..
the mustang cobra is probly the 5.0 cobra .. the only cobras u need to watch for are terminators and the new 1s.. the others need a good amount of mods in my eyes... but damn where the fuck do u live how can u run so many times in 1 night and not have no problems.. funny thing is its not just 2 -3 cars either u have alot like we do here in nyc.. just out of curiosity what do u think about the whole evo vs sti debate... especailly form the crawford sti vs ams evo.. every1 claims sti won and is better... just so you know because i dont know how you view me from the comments we had i personally was going to buy a mr because i need a awd car, but now i bought a ford f150. i chose the evo mr because i didnt want to get a s4 because i would be scared to park it when i go out late at night in the city.. my father absolutely hates imports so he was totally against it.. he calls them wrinky dinky jap toys..im a lover of cars as long as its done tastefully just so u know dont take offense to my fathers comment he is just old school. the 1 thing i hate tho is fart cans and the cockiness of ricers.. but both sides have that its annoying thats all.. but yeah whats your personal view of the debate of evo and sti.. |

yep that's my first time to the 1/4 mile track since I bought the car bone stock in february so I was pretty happy to see 11's on the first outing.
I think it's got a better 60' with some new street tires, these are completely shot. I also think I can get more mph out of it with a little more tuning. In the 4 runs I had I picked up 1mph each time as I adjusted the timing 1* each run. here are the last 3 runs, track vs g-tech respectively: Track G-Tech 60' 1.71 1.80 E.T 12.05 12.13 MPH 112.90 112.87 60' 1.74 1.83 E.T. 12.04 12.24 MPH 113.97 113.29 60' 1.67 1.70 E.T. 11.91 11.92 MPH 114.13 114.27 I'd say it's accurate enough. My original goal with this car was to have a 375+ awhp daily driver on pump gas that can run 11's. the new goal is 10's next up: 1) new street tires 2) PPI Ported intake manifold and 65mm Throttle Body 3) Aquamist HSF-5 meth kit 4) Forge heavy duty wastegate actuator 5) raising the boost from a 25psi spike to 30PSI 6) leaner AFR 7) more timing yeah that was the old 5.0 cobra i think, it was likely stockish so certainly nothing to brag about, but hey, the guy called me out because he wanted to spank an EVO. He got served some humble pie and went home lol. we have some nice racing spots here and each are industrial parks that don't have traffic at 10pm to 4am when we're out there. The cops are coming down extremely hard right now, taking people to jail and impounding cars so we've halted all activity out there for a few months to see if things cool down. stock for stock the EVO is superior in my opinion and most magazine tests and tv shows like top gear will agree so it's not just that I'm biased. I haven't heard about the crawford sti vs ams evo race so I can't speak to that. no offense taken, I can truly respect just about any car as long as like you said, it's tastefully done. Believe me I joke around about my evo having a massive stock park bench on the back and because of that, it's the very definition of rice lol. you'd probably like my forum www.racevideoforums.com we're a bunch of adrenaline driven gear heads that can truly appreciate all things fast. Now we'll throw some light hearted jabs at each other and we all have our personal preferences but it's all in good fun. I love educating people about the cars I'm most familiar with (EVO and Stealth) and I also like learning about other cars as well, it helps me to know what to expect when I run into one on the street. That being said, I'm the type of guy that will race most anything even if I know I'll lose, just to see a race

yeah first run was 35psi lol I totallly forgot to drop it down until the 3rd run I think and I put it to 25psi. I was running some el cheapo tires I put on it when I bought the car and they are slap worn out. I put the better of the 4 tires up front since they like to spin when the weight transfers to the back and the front suspension lifts up a bit.
yeah nothing beats a forced v8, I'd love to have one some day, i'm sure that'll wake it up immensely. yeah there is a thread on www.evolutionm.net where people that break 500awhp on the stock block post their dyno charts. I get an e-mail update about a new person joining the 500awhp stock block club sometimes as much as twice a week. There a few guys pushing 600, these things are pretty amazing for a 4 banger. when I do the meth and more boost I'll likely limit it to ~ 500awhp to make it last until I did a race engine and start shooting for the 9's stock boost is ~ 19psi tapering to ~ 16psi on the stock 16g turbo. the guys making 1000awhp are pushing 40-50psi

not that I know of, everyone stays with a single setup and the big guys can employ a few tricks to keep the turbo spooling.
1) launching with the 2-step you can get the car backfiring and build boost off the line. I see ~10psi on the launch 2) nitrous during a short window after each shift 3) no lift to shift, the gas pedal stays down and the ecu cuts thottle for a split second when the clutch is pushed in. 4) anti lag, forces the engine to backfire on shifts, sounds like a damn cannon going off and is violent to the turbine fins/shaft but makes the turbo respool quicker. 5) most of the big dogs spin the engine to 10,500 RPM or more so these extremely laggy turbos give them more usable power by widening the RPM range.

oh btw i love it when i see an evo mr with no "bench on the hood" as u call it..
but for performance purposes i hear it adds considerable downforce..\ i know of all these things your naming.. but i think it would be cool and uniq to use twins also more power in the power band is good without these tricks.. a 2 step can only build so much boost.. what is the weak point on evos.. i know there is one..but forgot.. has to do with the trans. |

yeah lots of guys drop the wing to lose weight or they just plain don't like it. It is a pain in the ass when you're trying to use the rearview mirror sometimes.
I hate to deface a car by remove stock equipment though..my stealth has that crazy bananna wing but I won't remove it... it gives the car it's character heh.
