a 2.3 barely has enough balls to spin the tires in snow

less power = better in the snow. Read my write up on page 2 in my jingle bells thread here in this section for more info. lol

But yes, generally speaking, Mustangs are shit in the snow. The V6 & 4 banger cars can be made decent in the snow with a good tire, some extra weight in the trunk (think bags of sand or kitty litter, about 200 lbs in total), and their open differential behaves better than the posi unit in snow and ice. Also see Jingle Bell thread for the why's of that phenomenon. lol

All Mustangs suck in the snow. My sister had a 73 Mustang which was the heaviest Mustang they made and it still sucked in snow. Although the 351 she had in it didn't help. God that car did good burnouts.

lol yup. Like I said you can make the six banger and 4 bangers passable with some weight and a decent snow tire, but yeah overall they are not a good snow car.

Hey last year we had a good dumping on us in Seattle, and I took my little Mustang up some trecherous hills simply by throwing a few hundred pounds in the trunk and dropping the rear tires' psi to 10 pounds. Works like a charm (old Jeeping trick if you care to know.. anyone who's ever gone 4-bying knows that trick). But I'd rather not have to drive it in the snow again... the Bronco isn't running yet...
