I know, I know...this aint a LS1 site, but since I've joined a few people have asked for video of my car. I just figured out how to download from my girlfriends video camera to the PC, so I made a quick sound clip. Tomorow I'm going to try and get some drive-by vids.

My setup is: 224/228 duration w/ .581/.588 lift @ 114 LSA cam-Hooker coated long tube headers-off road y-pipe-Hooker catback.

I hope some guys like it. I know that LS1 cars don't sound as nice as the Mustangs, so I'm sure some of you will hate this, but please be nice...I'm very sensative!

I luvvvv it. The idle is nice, and the revs were loud as eff. I like the sound of ls1's through cutouts bet, but yours is just awesome.

i think it sounds pretty good. to me the exhaust on a lot of ls1s has this 'hollow' sound that sounds like crap, but i dont really hear that with yours.

this does sound good tho... should throw some straight pipes on that mofo and ull really be screaming.. i like nastyss's camaro or mussers...just pure loud as f*Ck

Like a machine gun in a metal trash can? I heard that once on SVTP, and I laughed at first, but then I though...yeah, that's about right.

I don't think that LS1s sound too bad, but I think that the Mustangs (both the 5.0 pushrod and modular motors) sound amazing!

When i bought this car it had the headers on it already, and I asked a friend of mine that was with me when I bought it if my car sounded better than Travis' Mustang (travis_afx above^^). He thought about it for a second and just said he didn't know...I knew that Travis' car sounded 10x better, I knew that he knew that Travis' car sounded better, but he was just trying to not to be rude. So I told him that it wouldn't piss me off if he said Travis, so he IMMEDIATELY said that Travis' car sounds better! HA! Oh well, the F-bodies might sound like crap compared to the Mustangs, but I'll take low 13's off the showroom floor any day.

sounds good. It's just loud enough to hear yourself think while driving. My buddy has a butterfly valve with the exhaust pretty much just coming out of the headers on his 99 z28. It's baddddddd as alll hell...sounds like one of the meanest non cammed/NA camaro's I've ever heard, but when I ride with him, I can't hear anythng else when he's on the gas at any point.

Yeah, the y-pipe is not the greatest component for a sports car. I'd love to put some true duels on, but I would have some issues with my car being so low. I'd have to have them custom fabricated most likely, or just scrape everywhere. Right now I'm just worried about getting some major power upgrades and true duel exhaust is just not worth it at this point. Maybe, further down the road if I keep this car long enough.

BTW its one of the best LS1s I have ever heard. Most are raspy as hell.

Infact your car is probably on the only LS1 i wouldnt mind driving.

I believe it has something to do with the clearance issues. You know that big annoying hump on the floor of the front passenger side? That's where the y-pipe is. The two exhaust manifolds come down and meet there. Than one single pipe goes all the way to the back were it splits in two right after the axle so it still has the 'duel exhaust' look.

There are a lot of companies out there that sell a true duel kit (and a lot of guys that have them custom fabricated) but like I said, it's a pain in the ass if you have a car as low as mine.

My car is a daily driver, so I want something with good street manners. The next mod is indeed nitrous. I have a wetplate kit from HarrisSpeedworks sitting here, and I hope to have it on, tuned, and tweaked by this time January. I'll be spraying a 150 shot.

After that I'll probably start saving up for a moderate set of heads. I'm shooting for ~430 to the wheels N/A and than shooting a 125 shot on top of that. I don't want to go over 550 to the wheels. 550-600 is the respected limit on the stock short block for these cars. Some guys are running 650, but that is pushing it in my opinion...
