how to remove lense from gauge cluster.


i have a spare gauge cluster and i wanted to paint it silver. to match my car color. but how do i get the lense off of the cluster.???

There's 8 torx screws around the cluster (should be brass color), 4 on the top of the cluster, and 4 on the bottom. Take all 8 of those out and the lens (with the black housing underneath the lense) will come right off.

is there any way to get the black peice behind the lense seperate? i want to paint it silver ( the the 35th anniversary ones ) but i cant get the black peice away from the lense.
