hood gettin painted:D

well dad took the car in today to get a quote to paint my new hood and the quote was 500 for the hood and to touch up the front end and all the other random chips in te paint around the car...feel pretty good about it, nice price

paint job for 199? I work at a body shop and there is no way someone could guarantee a 199 dollar paint job. I LOL'd when i read that. Thats crazy!

they have been doin it for about 10 years that i know of, cause thats how long its been since my uncle has his painted there...yeah its guaranteed.....an they also let u choose how u want it painted,for the same color like black its 199.its only primed,1 coat an clear..each coat is like 75, if its 2 tone the proce is differ.me im goin to repaint mine tax time.but im goin 1 color an prob paint mine black so it will be around 500 for the whole car

500 is good. Shops around here want around 1,000 to repaint my hood and Front bumper and to fix my rock chips and stuff. I think i need to take up painting as a hobby, because my money tree just died.

199 dollars to prime, paint, clear? haha! I've seen cheap material but that is rediculous. A gallon of just clear would be 170. PPG paint would be twice that. and then gallon of primer is round 130. That is the price for great material. The salesman that comes by all the time tryin to sell us cheap shit couldnt give us paint, clear, and primer for that. LOOK....

This is the order it goes....(to do it right)
SAND entire car, tape it up, spray primer
SAND entire car, tape it up, spray base and then clear.

NO POSSIBLE WAY he is doing all the above for 199 and making a profit.
Materials include: sandpaper, tape, paper, primer, primer's activator, base, reducer, clear, clear hardner and most of all... LABOR!!! 199????
I cant even fathom how he is doing that!!!!

Guarantee you he doesnt sand the car at all!

Paint/body/collision/refinishing whatever you want to call it industry doesnt pay worth a shit unless youve got your own business or do side jobs, so unless youve got some good fertilizer that money tree would end up dying again lol.

This is true... compared to plumbers, electricians, etc.... the only way to do good is side jobs or own one. My dad owns the shop I work at. I do alot of side jobs and rebuilding totaled vehicles and selling them. To just work at a body shop doesnt pay that good. But it pays better than 199 for a paint job..

Just messing with you bro.... but 199? DAMN!
