Ok... so I removed my side scoop incerts and yes they do just pop right out... The hood scoop on the other hand is not just a pop out like a few said... I ended up removing the thermal blanket... Then removing the hood scoop all togather.. witch is like 10 nuts.. no big deal.. Removed the assembly of the hood. Let me warn yall... The plastic incert is sealed with some kind of foam sealent... So to remove the incert there are 3 tabs that stick threw a tab in the hood with a metal OEM retainer witch are a PITA to remove... I just used plyers and removed them. You will need to buy new ones for the reinstall. I am going to start painting the parts today and will take pics of everything unassembeled and then assembling them. So for referance the hood scoop one does not pop out if you try to pop it out you willl break it...

Nice project. I just did this to my car a few weeks ago. I couldn't be happier with the way the painting turned out. Now my inserts don't look like cheep plastic anymore.

You were right not to force out your hood scoop. It's only the V6 hood scoop that pops out. The GT scoop is bolted on, as you found out. The 3.8 hood scoop pops out easier than the side scoops do.

How are you painting them? Make sure to post pics when you are done. Hey, we should start a thread for everyone who has done this to post pics of their final work. That would be cool!
