Why do side scoops get so dirty?
So yes, I'm on a side scoop kick now. Just painted my scoop inserts and it caught my attention again that the side scoops are always the most dirty part of the car.
The car is white and well waxed, so when it rains it really doesn't get too dirty. Even on a 1,000 mile road trip where it rained half the time the car remained mostly clean looking....except for the damn side scoops that seem to just catch dirt. My thoughts are that since they stick out a little spray from the rear tire gets them. Then, because they are sheltered from wind and rain the dirt just remains there. Anyone else notice this? Any other ideas why this is? Just curious. |
