94-98 chin spoiler

Ok so i bought one of the last shippments of 94-98 chin spoilers that MT had. I get it in and it seems to be about two inches short and it came with mounting hardware which is really just these strange little plastic screws with a plastic cone shaped thing that the screw goes into. Im not to sure how these things are gonna hold it in. This should be a simple bolt on mod. I havent tried yet to put it on because im getting my new bumper painted. Are they suppose to be alittle short or what?

I own a 2003 Mach1 and the factory chin spoiler is mounted about 1/4 inch back from the front edge of the bumper and stops about a 1/4 inch from the wheel wells.

there is a small gap in the back, but in the pic theirs is barely recessed, on my 99 i put it all the way to the lip, but as a personal preference. mine didn't come with hardware so i made my own at lowes, but some come with fastners for oem holes. if you have a drop they are hard to keep from scraping up.

i scrape my chin spoiler everytime i leave my driveway. i used lowes hardware instead of the oem plastic fasteners included with the chin spoiler. just line it up, tape it up, drill your hole from the outside and work in. then bolt it up. i have a 1/4" gap at the wheel wells but it lines up with the bumper lip- my preference as well.

mine didnt come with fasteners, but i just got some 1/4 inch bolts and buts and some locking washers and a drill and got it up there. though if you use your own hardware, one piece of advice-
if you can, use washers on the bottom (meaning if the bolt goes in from the bottom, put a washer between the bolt head and the spoiler. the reason i say this is because i must have hit a bad bump or scraped bad or something - but it seems that the spoiler ctually came off on of my bolts - ie the hole must have stretched over the bolt. this wont normally happen im sure, but its annoying and i keep putting off fixing it...

and as far as scraping it up, yeah itll happen but its just the bottom - and personally, id rather scrape that than the bumper

Thanks guys, yea i looked at that pic for a while after posting yesterday, and i saw the gap toward the fender well, my dad even told me that u can let it sit out in the sun just before u put it on and it will expand just a little and be alittle better to move around.

can ANYONE please tell me where i can find a seller of the very rare "94-98 chin spoiler". please. you see i hit a raccoon the other day and tore the $hit out of the black guard under my front bumper. (does anyone know the actual name of that too) now i need to replace it, but i figured i would be better off upgrading then just going with the same old style. any help with this would be great. thanks

on the other part are you talking about the air dam under the car to deflect cool air into the engine bay?
