the way I put them on was I put 3m double sided tape on the backs of them, and I heated the back up and used adhesion promoter on the plastic before I put the tape on. then while the backing was still on the tape I figured out exactly where I wanted them on the bumer using some 2" tape to help hold it on the bumper while I stepped back and checked out the alingment of them.

_After I was sure they were where I wanted them I marked the position with some 3/4" tape by putting the tape on the piece and onto the bumper, then I cut the tape right were the piece touches the bumper. I did two pieces on the top to mark the side to side and on on the side closest to the middle of the bumper for the up ans down. After you cut he tape pull the piece of the bumper and discard the two inch tape. you will be left with three pieces on the piece that will line up with the three pieces on the bumper when you put it back on.

then I put a piece on the backsde of the lip that goes in the wheelwell, heating it up before and wiping it with adhesion promoter before the tape gets put on.

now make sure the bumper is nice and clean, and then I heated the surface of the bumper up a little and wiped the paint with adhesion promoter where the strips of tape will hit it. then I peelwd all the backing off the tape except for the piece on the lip. For that one I just pulled maybe an inch of the backing off, just enough so you can wrap the backing around the lip and put a piece of tape on the backing to make sure it stays on the outside of the part. Now carefully put the part on,making sure the tape lines are lined up on the first try. If you have to pull it back off and reposition it, you run the risk of it not sticking properly because the adhesive has already touched something the first try. "o it might be a good idea to practice putting it on with the tape marks lining up before you pull the backing off.

Okay now that its on the bumper with the tape lines all alinged go ahaed and untape the liner from the lip piece and pull it the rest of the way out. The reason you want to leave the backing on that piece is so it can slide on the wheelwell lip when you're putting it on.

now you just need to apply firm pressure to all the places the tape is. don't skip that part, if you don't go back and put some good pressure on it, it will not stick for very long.

I honestly steer away from attaching any body panel on the outside of my car that is not bolted/screwed on. Now Travis, that was a killer guide and sounds like it works flawlessly.. however for me, I will stick with normal bolted bumpers

+rep for a good guide.

the key to getting things to stick with double sided tape is to use 3m tape, warm the surfaces up and use adhesion promoter on the car and the part before you apply the tape. and the most important thing is to use ample pressure on the tape after the part is installed.

x2 exactly! i did the same method a few months ago when i put mine on, and hey sixxer, my pieces have a hole for a screw inside on the bottom of each 1, does yours? if so put a screw there and use the 3m tape, mine has held up perfect.

mine dont either, the only place you can drill holes is on the bottom.. i think you may have to use 3M tape. im using a adhesion glue stuff.... plus tape.

this is a few months old I know but I bought mine last year off of ebay prepainted.

mine have the hole and I screwed it in as well as used the 3m tape it came with. My question is how well did your guys stick? Mine have a big gap at the tops of the valances and kinda look like crap in my opinion. I want to get it so it sits flush but wasn't sure if there was a better product that would make it stick so it doesn't have that gap. I have looked at pictures of real Roush's and not sure what they use because theirs sit perfectly. do you guys have any gaps in between them or do they sit almost like its one whole bumper?

They should sit tightly against the bumper. 3M double sided tape works great, Ive tried out alot of different brands and have yet to find one that sticks as well as the 3M tape.

The key to getting the tape to work for you is to make sure the surfaces are warmed, not super hot just warmed up, before you apply the tape. I also ALWAYS use adhesion promotor, I use "Pro Bond", on the car surface before i apply it as well. Just be mindful and only put the promoter where the tape will be or you run the risk of having noticble streaks on the paint that would need to be rubbed out with compound, black paint does it the worst. Also after it is part is stuck on, you need to use ample force pushing on the part where the tape is. The tape is in a way pressure sensitive, it needs like 20-30 lbs of pressure to fully seat and activate the adhesive on the tape.

If you have anyother questions or whatever about it feel free to ask them bud
