help i scuffed my rims

so i was parking and for got i have rims so i heard this sratchh and just pissed my self lol so i was wondering can i get my rims like worked on i mean can i get them sand blasted and repainted chrom???? i have a red stang with tinted windows i all ways liked black ?? should i have them painted black or chrome?

how can you forget that you have rims?you would be out some money doin that,you would be better off gettin them painted black if thats what you want

For starters... How bad is it? can you provide us with pics?

Secondly, Chrome is not painted. It is an acual material that is coated on the rim and then a clear coat is sprayed over it. You can not "Paint" chrome. The only way to redo chrome would be to somehow remove the clear coat and re surface it in Chrome. Or atleast, that is what I have been told.

Also.. do not attempt to paint Chrome rims black. I do not think that would come out very good. From my understanding black rims are Powdercoated.. not painted.

Get us some pics of the dmg. That way someone can give you a better idea of the best action to take.

yea i knw srry i was not specific enough lol so i have chrom rims that are peeling mostly in the inside so they still look good but the lip of the entire rims have nickks all around so i thought i can have some one sand blast the chrom off and just hav them powwder coat them black ... but i didnt know if i could have some one sand blast the chrom off then re chrome them lol >>>???? ill have pics tomorrw its late where im at haa

You know you could just take some sandpaper and water and polish them right up, don't you? No one mentioned that yet I see.

It's a special kind of chrome sand paper. I am sure someone will confirm.

make sure you get someone to check your muffler fan.......a small jolt or hard shake can brake it loose....and that can cause ur exhaust to over heat.....and overheating isnt good
