It would have undoubtedly cracked. Sun is the devil when it comes to vinyl stripes.

Don't stripe it..

You know what REALLY gets annoying? V6 stang owners attempting to make their cars look like GT500s with the racing stripes and all.

If I had a chance to get a GT500, it would be a all black one.

My 99 Dodge Neon R/T had them as well with no problems. And it wasn't kept under a cover or in the garage. (It was my dd beater)

Dude....you are so lucky..I am not kidding! I mean a stripe is a strip deosn't matter if it's a Vette or a Stang...he still have time and material. I think he wanted to do something nice..and you were it! Wow...I mean you saved a ton of $$$

Way to go.

My vinyl never did crack, but here is Chicago we don't have a lot of Sun in the Winter...mostly cloudy. However what they did do was spot badly. I suppose if I had them on longer they may have cracked. idn

Actually I don't think of V6's with stripes as trying to be a ride they're not. I think and this is from a show car perspective OK, it's a nice look. These cars are made for stripes.

Let me add...the side stripes Ford puts on...Man I just saw a girl who bought a used V6 and there is white wax residue so built up even a detailer could not get it out. So be really careful on those if you keep them and actually the paint may have already faded if you had them removed.

Just have fun planning and looking at ideas. You could always forget the stripes go for honeycomb rear end and a black chin spoiler for alot less $$ and still get a wow factor.

You know whats even more annoying when someone tries to make their car look nice and some asshole completely turns it around on them. im not trying to make my car look like something its not i just want it to look good. v6 or gt can still look good.

Yeah, i've decided against stripes...as good as they look, I just don't know that i want to do something that'll hurt the resale value... maybe that honeycomb trunk cover and a nice lip... thanks you guys!

Yeah that sounds like a very good idea for you. If anyone is unsure about striping..then don't do it. I didn't really think you were committed to doing that so....this will work nicely for you and appearance wise, look real good and save a ton of $$. Good.
