Well as I said, I had the paint job done last May, and have zero issues with paint quality. I don't call it a crap paint job, I call it economical. A crap job would be Billy Bob and Hoe Down spray canning their 'Stang with flat black and calling it a fresh paint job. Maaco is a national company for a reason, there are far worse places to have a car painted.
Furthermore, your Termi reference is off base. How much are you spending on that motor? Now the car (or at least a main component of it) are worth a lot more. Now you have a 3-4k motor (estimate) plus EVERYTHING else it costs to have that in your car (I'm assuming you meant throwing it in the OP's sixxer). So let's say you spent 5-6k (that's cheap) to do a complete motor swap, which requires complete trans and rear end swap if I'm not mistaken. NOW it makes sense to have nice wheels (or paint, to save grace within the original thread) because you now have a beastly car which has tons of money invested in it.

If you read all my posts, I said IF, big IF, he had bigger plans for the car, or had already done mods (which I don't know of) it may make sense to spend the extra dough on nice paint. All of my claims were for a stockish 2000 v6 stang. That car is worth no more than 4 grand. As a stock car, it makes no sense to spend the price of the vehicle on paint. Forget resale, it won't last long afterwords.

^agreed, I would never put a 2000$ paint job on my daily driver. it's just going to get the usual rock dings, bugs, and random other crap that happens from 300 miles a week or more. For a daily driver you just want to get rid of massive flaws, cheaply.
