2000 v6 paint job

i wanted to get me 2000 v6 mustang a nice fresh paint job with small minor body work
its a black car with the tan mustang stripe on the bottom of the doors/side skirts
as far as body work there is a small spot on the hood with all the paint chipped off, the small part of the side skirt infront of the driversside door is missing, the bumber has a small crack in it near the front driverside wheel and thats about it

looking for a decent paintjob that will make my baby shine like new without costing a fortune

can anyone give me an average price?

be prepared to put out at least $2500 for a new paintjob, and with paint...cheap isn't always the best choice.

dont spend less than 1800 on same color paint job, if yoiu want to change the color expect upwards of 3500 to do it right, as for body work another 800-1200 total forr a good same color paint job and body work minimum is 3800 would be my guess

The maaco's where i live does a full paint job for 580. With the couple of things you have wrong it might be another 200. Maaco's is like the cheapest but they do good paint jobs. My friend had his car painted yellow for 600 and looks sweet

Last time I checked Maaco sucked. They don't do good prep work which is the key to a good paintjob no matter what paint you use. Expect a Maaco paintjob to peel and show the horrible workmanship relatively quickly. That being said sometimes you will find a good deal on paint work but don't expect great results without shelling out some money

Maaco's issue is as said, the prep. That being said if you prep your car before giving it to them, it could help. I was quoted $800 and got my car painted there. It took 13 days and 3 times of me going back to say, "do this again" for them to get it right. I take back my first comment, that isn't their only issue. At least the one I went to just seems to really not give two F's. Unless you want a show car don't spend more than 2k. But as said cheaping out is not good with paint. I say between $1500 and 2 grand. It's not a Bentley people.

...especially when your car isn't worth more than 4 grand even with a fresh paint job. Think about what car you're painting to give a good estimate of what to spend on paint...

My car got rammed under a dump truck by the previous owner. The scratches from the truck scrapped 2" long lines down to the metal. I went to a shop and just to fix those spots up is aobut 450 bucks. So for a full job, its safe to say 2500+.

Do all the prep work yourself and save a lot of money.

My buddy has had 3 cars painted at a maaco. Granted he does most of the prep work himself and just has them spray. I had a fender put on my dads truck and painted and it turned out great.

I would see if you can find reviews of a specific maaco. I've heard horror stories of some and nothing but good from others and you can't beat their prices

Also make sure you haggle with a maaco, they'll like always come 100-200$ off a full paint job.

also for a good paint job expect your car to be gone for some time.

+1 & +1

And I repeat again that for this specific car, unless his goals are to have a real nice show type car, an expensive job isn't necessary nor economical. Maaco paint, yes with a few oversprays, has lasted with no issues over a year now, and for $700 you can't beat it. Suggesting a $3000 paint job on a car that isn't worth much more than that is more than senseless.
