Hood...yay or nay?
Cervini KR Hood for my car? I've been holding out for a Cervini 67 hood, but the KR is a close enough style that I just may bite the bullet.
The one that's fs... ![]() My car as it sits right now... ![]()

Thanks for the feedback Vapor. Any specific reason why? Does it just look out of place with the stock GT fascia?

i think it would look good on your car, so long as it's at least semi-functional with the air intake. If it's just looks...then you get a NO.

I'm trying to go with a hood that resembles the 67-68 GT 350 hoods. The Cervini 67 is a dead match. The KR looks basically like the 67 only the scoops have been elongated and vents added. The main factor is that the KR hood is used and will cost me about 1/3 the price of a new 67.

I personally love the flat, squat hood of the standard GT. The KR hood looks great...on a KR. But if you want to turn heads, the KR is certainly the way to go! But like these guys I don't like appearance mods

Not a fan really! Although similar, I absolutely love the Shelby Super Snake hood!

The "67" hood would look way better with your theme. Even if you get a better deal on the KR hood I think you'll regret it in the end. The "67" hood also looks a lot better and blends in and flows with the lines of a Mustang instead of the in your face look of the KR.

Luke, I was going to nab the same hood before the one I have now and only passed on it because of the center seam running up the hood. It doesn't stand out in pics nearly as much as in person.
I like the hood though overall aside from that one thing and I think it will set off your car very well. If the price is right too, then it's a wrap. You know I like appearance mods, and would never tell you not do something because it's partly or even entirely cosmetic. The thing you gotta ask yourself, is will you kick yourself later by not having the cervini 67? |

I honestly don't think I would kick myself unless I found a used paint matched 67 for the same price which is a longshot. I haven't bought the 67 yet for the simple fact that I can't justify spending that type of $ on it. The main thing that I worry about is that (in person) it might look out of place with the stock fascia. I've chopped my center fogs onto the photo and that looks fine so I don't have to worry about that issue. I just don't want to get to the point of having the hood "overload" the appearance of the front and making the car look unbalanced.

The yay's have it. Took a trip down to Waco yesterday and picked up the hood for $400. Fits flawlessly and ties into the theme perfectly IMO. For some reason it looks much more subtle on my car than on the one that it came off of. Will clean the car up tonight and post pics tomorrow.

Tiny pic from cell phone and a really dirty car, but you can get an idea of how it turned out.
The heat extractors are painted a low gloss black which looks sick with the rest of the black accents on the car, especially the matte black rocker stripes. ![]() 1000th post BTW!

I actually bought that hood directly from Brett. He sold/traded his S197 a few months ago and the hood has been in storage until now. The hood is in 99.9% perfect condition...only 2 very very small rock chips. And yes...I saw his Z28. It sounds nasty.
