The header panel, right above where the bumper attachs.
Looks good man. Only suggestion I can make; push the pins in from the other side so the loop is on the outside. This way when you pull them out you have less of a chance of hitting the hood with the pins.

Hey guys, 1st post =D
I have the same pin kit and I was searching Google about the grinding noise. I have the exact problem, and Im going to try the hose w/washer idea. I noticed, that if you engage the pins and pop your hood, it will also stop the grinding. I do advocate driving with your hood safety latch popped (I have for the past 3 days going from 20MPH to 80MPH), but it alieves that goddamn annoying grind! I purchased 3/6'' T-pins for mine to replace the hitch pins, but I went back to the hitch pins. The T-pines move and Im not digging back. To answer another question: If you worry about water getting into the fiberglass, it's not a huge worry, but you can buy at any hardware store red or black liquid electrical "tape" you can paint the side of the hole with. Its not SUPER thick and itll even make the pins alittle tighter if you sand out or grind out the holes too large. I used this to actually seal cracks on the dashboard of my old 90 Ranger. It does not fade, crack or peel. Its 300 degree test and water proof. Dont use super glue, has acid that will warp the fiberglass and it is not waterpoof. Liquid Nails clear isnt bad but you have to leave your hood up for it to dry for about 8 hours. |

I have mine set up to where the hood latch still engages, and i dont experience any grinding noise at all. In fact, i havent had any problems what so ever since the day i installed them!

the grinding noise is because there is to much play under the hood. The scuff plates are scraping on the pins. not a big deal at all really

I was able to fix 99% of the grind today. It still gives a VERY slight scrap when I go up or down a hill (since I live on a hill).
I used a 1/2'' USS washer on the bottom, a #155 spring and another 1/2'' USS washer on the top. Top and engage the safety latch. It's so pretty.
