Caliper painting , any advice?


I want to paint the calipers on my 03 GT red. any tips tricks or kits that you prefer

Rough up the calipers with a sanding block, clean off with brake cleaner, tape everything off (trash bags over your fenders and doors, let the calipers hang, paint with actual caliper paint if you can (Autozone sells it). I did mine a year or so ago:

there is a kit you can buy from O'Rielly's, you don't have to tape everything off, you just brush the paint on!, I used red and black on mine, red for the calipers, and black for the brackets!

I did mine all silver, turned out good, i use the kit that everbody else is talkin about too, and go for the brush on instead of the spray can

DO NOT USE REGULAR SPRAY PAINT! regular paint will not handle the high heat stresses that calipers get during driving, make sure you get paint specifically for brake calipers or get paint rated for high heat surfaces, I think u might could use paint that would be used to paint an engine block

i used aluma-blast paint on mine.. it was rated to high temps & i liked the silver look to my calipers.. if i was you, i would try the brush on stuff! no mess!!
